A spot of Gardening

I only turned my back on him for a minute. Honestly.
He took me back out to show me what he had been doing.
Very proud of himself

Why do I do it??

When I go Christmas shopping this is what happens.

I keep seeing stuff I want for myself.
I can' remember what I've already bought for people and end up buying for the same person twice.
I see stuff I think someone would like and then find it's too expensive (or cheap).
I never know if people will like what I like.
I never know what to buy.
I can't make up my mind.
I decide that it's all too difficult and that I'll come back tomorrow.
I end up getting stuff and then not giving it because I think they won't like it.
I can't be bothered to wrap the presents I buy.

Is it just me or does that happen to everyone?

Anyway here are a few things that I wouldn't mind if anyone wants to get something for me.
I really don't care too much if I don't get anything and I'd rather not have anything than see people go into debt to pay for it. But here are some suggestions anyway. (not in any particular order of preference)

Car seat covers,
some pastels so I can finish my pictures I started (from an art supply shop)
a cord so that I can plug my ipod into the TV.
clothes, jewelry, books, itunes voucher.
a mirror with a long handle on it so I can look underneath the quilt machine with it.

Or I wouldn't mind if someone wanted to clean my windows or help me clean up my house.

I might add to the list so keep checking back before you shop.

Finally a present.

I have been so slack with my christmas shopping this year. I usually have most of the presents ready to put under the tree when I put it up. This week I finally got a present to put under it.
Here are some of my displays. I don't really know why I bother because they hardly even get noticed.

This nativity is the one I've had forever. I bought it at a Kmart sale after Christmas about 35 years ago for about $2.00. The kids have all played with it and loved it and only one piece has gone missing. I think it was lamb.
And here's the advent calender. I can't put chocs in it because they would melt because it gets really hot in my front doorway. So if I know the kids are comming I have to race out and fill it with chocolates for the days that they have missed. I also have some nice little books in there that tell the real Christmas story.

Little Elf

This little elf arrived on my doorstep this morning. Before I was even out of bed!
He was very happy when we found some little decorated bikkies in his lunch

He found himself a seat and sat down to enjoy himself
Then we went to play with the train but this is what happened.
He enjoyed dancing when the train was working
and the doll got a good workout.
But this is what happened when I left the room for a couple of minutes.
Grandad would not be happy so we put it back together again and shut the door.

Comfort for the Soul.

On Friday Zak bought me a beautiful bunch of flowers. He didn't actually want to give them to me though.
They made me feel sad at the time but have cheered me up ever since.
Thanks Leigh and Angela and family

I know you by heart.

I see your sweet smile shine through the darkness, its light is etched in my memory.
So I'd know you by heart.
I still hear your voice on warm summer nights wispering like the wind.
I saw your sweet smile I heard your laughter.
You're still beside me every day,
